Title: Helix 10 Si G2n Mega transducer location
Post by: soopd on February 15, 2018, 12:15:12 PM
I am trying to install a Helix 10 Si G2n Mega transducer on an aluminum SeaArk ZX180. I thought about installing the transducer above the drain plug in front of the lower unit if I have enough clearance. I know I will not get on plane readings, however, I will address that with another transducer where I have one installed now.   Will the drain plug effect my si or my di readings?  Is this a good location?  Any better solutions?

Attached are some pictures of a zx180 that looks like mine. It is not my boat, but my hull is the same hull.

The MEGA xducer will work for slow speed scanning above the drain plug  ... This is a similar location to a jackplate mount  ...

You may pick up the additional 2d xducer housing in the right SI  ... It would show as a hard echo line parallel, and to the right of the center line in the SI image  ...
