They  just released new software last night. I hope this helps. I have the 899 also, install tomorrow and fish for the weekend. ;D

General Fixes

Removes NMEA0183 functionality when i-Pilot® Link™ is connected
Corrects issues caused when Follow the Contour feature used on an i-Pilot Link while recording an iTrack and AutoPilot is turned on.
Corrects issue to delete iTracks from all units on the network
Corrects POS mode allowing Chart/Side Combo view to be seen on SI units

New Features

Adds support for AutoChart PC and ZeroLine Map cards

Chill man, these are little computers & they all have software bugs (a fact of digital life) - I just updated my buddies 899 tonight & he's only running the 455 compact SI XDCR, as I am also currently - BUT I do have an HDSI XDCR for my trolling motor in the boat ready to go WHEN the software issue has been resolved, in this instant gratification society of today - everybody complaining as loud & fast as they can does NOTHING to help the bottom line.
HB has a ton of new computerized digital products that perform some very intricate feats of Sonar display technology.
THEY WILL GET IT FIXED, try some patience & understanding, or go buy another brand & see how well they treat you in 3 years if your unit fails. ;D
I've been a 'Bird customer since 2006 - and that's after using "another brand" for well over 20+ years. My best buddy owns my 8 year old 787c2 and it's never been to the shop - I couldn't say that for "another brand" that I don't use anymore.......
