I'm just beginning to learn the Humviewer app...which is a WAY-COOL app Martin....!!
I've got my screen setup on 4 view.....
In each of these views there is a selection for "2D Trackplot"
What is "2D Trackplot"...??

The 2D trackplot is a simple view of the route that you have sailed during the recording.
Basically the same route as you can see in Google Earth.

If you look at the 2D trackplot it looks like a bunches of little circles, it is actually the route of your boat, it shows where you are in the recordings. You can tell if you are going in a straight line or making turns. When making turns the sideimaging is somewhat distorted. For example I found a boat under water, when going over it on a straight coarse the boat has good detail. If I make a turn over the boat it will be curved and elongated.
I like keeping this on the bottom of my screen to observe where I am while viewing, normally I'll start viewing with 3 screens SideImaging, 2d and 2d trackplot, and kick the speed up and then slow it down on areas of interest.

You are welcome.
You should play with all of the settings and views. Sometime I just look at SideImaging with the 2D track on the bottom. You may observe fish depending on how close to the bottom you may see the fish and the shadow behind it, kind of like observing the shadow of a object when using a flashlight.

Right now I'm using Humviewer with a 20 minute recorded simulation from my 1197...
I had to send my brand new head unit back to HB for repairs right out of the box....it had a damaged front bezel from shipping....
I'm glad it's still early in the season...so I'm playing with HB PC and Humviewer to learn all the features of each.....
