On page 52 of the 500ci HD DI XD Combo Manual.pdf states:
To change the width of the Sonar Window, press the MENU key once and select Sonar Window from the Z-PRESS Menu.
This works as advertised...
On page 53 of the 500ci HD DI XD Combo Manual.pdf states:
To change the width of the Down Imaging Window, press the MENU key once and select Sonar Window from the Z-PRESS Menu.
There is no option for Sonar Window after pressing the MENU key.....
The unit came with the latest software installed, Version 6.09
Does anyone know if this is a misprint? Does your unit work as per the manual? Any suggestions other then call Hummingbird?

Which unit is this for? We don’t have a 500ci HD DI XD Combo model unit.
What is the part number on the operations manual you are looking at? This is usually in the upper right hand corner of the title page.
Can you please confirm the page number you saw this on.

As stated in the subject: It is for a 597ci HD DI
The manual is the one it comes with on CD or downloaded from HB's web site. The manual covers the 500 series. Several areas of the manual reference a specific model in the series. This is one area where it does.
The page numbers are correct.

Thought it was the 597ci HD DI model you were asking about but your “500ci HD DI XD Combo Manual.pdf” statement had me wondering.
I believe that is a misprint.
What say you Kosmo?

The NAV screen has 2 different split screens, one is NAV and DI and the other is NAV and standared view. they are after each other when selecting the view button.

i just checked my unit. like you said there is no option to change the width on the di/nav. screen but there is an option on the 2d/nav. there does not appear to be away to change the width of the di/nav.you are also correct that in the manual on page 53 it states that there should be an option to change the width of the di..looks like somebody flubbed up ???

Great that it is not just my unit.....
Now how do we get HB to admit what is really wrong?
One would think that after all this time at least the online manual would have been changed if it was a misprint. It seems logical that you should be able to change it, why not? Only reason I can think of is it eats up to much CPU time or RAM and slowed the unit down way to much to be usable, so they removed the option and never changed the manual???? just a guess.

From what I have been told the manual is wrong and will be updated in the next version.
I do not know when that will be.

It would have been a nice feature. I would think that it also would be nice to have the ability to adjust all split screen sizes.
