Non SI unit files
« on: September 10, 2011, 10:14:05 AM »
Anyone have earlier versions of 597CI HD DI files. I let my buddy update mine and he didn't reset to default before updating and the 2D looks weird. I was hoping to revert back to an earlier version to see if that helps. I loved it before the update. Thanks

Have you tried to email Humminbird Support?  They will send you the file I am sure.  If you have any problem just let me know and I can get it for you.

Kosmo,

Thanks very much...I got it. Much appreciated!:)
The downgrade went without a hitch, I made sure to set to default first.
I will know more when I get back on the water next month.

Robert,

Thanks also...I was wondering though....
Would updating without first defaulting lose the built in lake map contours and data that came with the unit?
I noticed that when run in simulation mode, I see water but no contours and one of the side by side split screens is white blank on the left side during one of the demo simulations. I don't have a transducer hooked up since it is at the lake, but the GPS works and shows where I am when I take it out side in Normal mode.

I've always used a lake-master chip, so I'm not sure. I've never used the built in data and I'm not able to get on the water till next month. But I think I read somewhere that this would cause the loss of the built in map data. Is this true?
If so, can I send it in to be put back? Would this be covered under warranty? I bought the unit in May 2011.

Thanks again,
LWC

Updating or downgrading the unit software should not cause a loss of the map data in the unit.

Let us know how it works when you get back on the water.
