Title: 899 firmware

I updated my humminbird 899 to the latest firmware and now sometimes when I turn the unit on it gets into a boot cycle and keeps shutting down and restarting. I contacted humming about it and they want me to send it to them for repairs. The unit is one day old! I asked them for the old firmware .bin file so i can downgrade and they won't send it to me. so I was wondering if the 897 firmware is the same as the 899 firmware because on this site I can't find the download links for the 899 firmware

Nope, and you are best to let them fix it - if you ask them nicely, they may provide you with a pre-pay label....
