H/B PC Program Question
« on: August 10, 2010, 07:06:43 PM »
I have never updated my unit from the HB PC program so I have just one question about doing it. When I click on update the update wizard opens up then it asks what file do I want to down load the up date to, this would be in the browser drop box I guess that's what they call it.  Do I need to create a new folder and name it like Up Date folder  so all the up dates are saved in it?  I,m not much of a computer geek,I,m just not sure what to do here. I,m not do for any up dates at this time but I still would like to set the program up right. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tennwalkinghorse  go to humminbird support register your unit click on my account
the newest update will be in your account for your unit click on update and follow the prompts it will take you step buy step. you can also drag and drop the newest update also
I have done it both ways.make sure you set factory defaults before the update and after the update.   Gary

I would set up a separate folder for software updates.  It makes it easier to find them next time as I don’t like saving everything to my PC’s desk top.  Each file will have a unique name and will have the unit and version serial number in it so it is easy to tell what each file is.  Example: 898cSi_v4_880.bin is the 4.800 software update file for the 898c Si units.
