Title: Towfish pulling system
Post by: xd35 on April 22, 2010, 04:15:14 PM
Anyone like to share what they are using? I have plenty of specs/blueprints for making the towfish, just need to figure out a out and over the back or over the side support system.

Trying to design or come up with way to support/pull the towfish out of small boat.  I was thinking of a small downrigger.

Hands are out of the question, there is a reson it's called the Big Muddy here.
She runs on average 5-6 mph current flow.

XD  what depth are you wanting to pull the fish?  SI works well down to 50 or 60 feet.   Also on the big muddy you will find lots of underwater floating snags.  Just like over on the Might Miss.

Also use the search tab and search on towfish.  There is several good postings and pictures on the forum..

Hi XD

This is my solution for a boat of 4.35 meters.
Can also be used as a roll the rim of a child's bicycle.
