Is there a work around for Mac users? I'm not going to run 2 operating systems been there and its not fun. I'm thinking my next solutions is to buy a used laptop just for my chart Plotter. I don't understand why Humminbird is limiting the capability to PC only, my guess they don't want to spend the extra cash for apple. >:(

Parallels for Mac ... Or buy a Windows machine ...
Not much in other choices ...

The humminbird software is rubbish, just download Garmin Homeport and gpsbabel. Both come with Mac versions.

Thanks I didn't even consider using other companies software thinking I was locked into Humminbird.

I hadn't even thought about Homeport myself ... Interesting ...

You will need HBPC for adding waypoints to an SD Card for uploading into the HB unit ...

Just convert them with GPSBabel, copy to the card and import directly.
The only good thing the HB software can do is put a message on the sounder screen...

As far as I know the waypoints must be in a folder on the SD Card labeled Matrix in order to import into the unit ...
I would not think GPS Babel would create this Matrix folder ...

Your idea may work with ONIX ...because ONIX is supposed to read and convert other competitor's waypoint data ...(altho I haven't tried this on my ONIX) ...

The above works fine with my 898 and 859.
If you are worried about folder structure, just export your current waypoints and work from there.
