Humviewer ?
« on: June 07, 2014, 06:12:58 PM »
Hi to all, this is a great site to learn. My question concerns Humviewer. I see people refer to using it but I am not sure what it is and what it is used for. Is it used with or as a replacement for Humminbird PC?
Is it hard to set up and use?
                     Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. I may try to download it. I do not have my units set up yet so do not have any files to view so far. So much to learn and trying to figure out how to keep all the data organized for each lake I might use. I hope I can name the waypoints in the units before uploading to another application like Humminbird PC or Humviewer.
Thanks,

The link JDX posted is the correct download site for Humviewer...

Here is the Humviewer subforum...

The 1st thread in the subforum also leads to that same link...

Get yourself some sd cards (cant record without them) and go record some water. I carry a notepad to make notes on the waypoints as editing while fishing takes up time at the end of the rod. You can always go back and name your waypoints wwhen your in the driveway or garage.

Humviewer allows you to open up your recording in Google Earth so you can see your boats location. Also once you start recording a waypoint is automatically stored from the start of your recording. I have an older laptaop in the garage that has all my fishing info stored on it.

Your in the right place here and if your finding this site and the people who contribute their knowledge, dont be afraid to donate  a few buck to help the cause.

Thanks Rickie and JDX for your help.
I will download the application so I can look at it. I do have some hi-speed SD cards used with a camera so it will just be getting setup & playing with the units to get some recordings.
The idea about an old laptop is good and I have an old desktop in my basement rec room to use for reloading info so now it can be for fishing info also.
Thanks for the link to the sub menu for Humviewer questions. This site has a tremendous amount of information available for one source. The contribution idea sounds good as I imagine someone is fronting a lot of money to keep this up & running.

Humviewer (as well as the unit itself)..has a snapshot feature...

Take snapshots of interesting finds or questionable finds and post them in the forum...
