lakemaster vs lakemaster plus
« on: April 22, 2015, 02:58:46 PM »
hello I live in nj and am debating if it is worth me purchasing a chip for my 999si unit. There aren't too many big lakes here in jersey so the lakes listed are limited. What is the benefit lakemaster plus has over the regular lakemaster. Also would I be best off with a lakemaster chip?
Thanks Gio

Gio,
What LakeMaster PLUS mapping cards over the standard LakeMaster mapping cards:
“PLUS has all of the features you’ve come to love from LakeMaster, but now allows for aerial image overlay on high definition waters. Now you have the ability to use quality aerial photography to view the entry and exits of creek channels, see how far a reef or weed line extends, pick out shallow water rock piles, steep drop-offs and other features of the lake you’ve been missing from traditional maps. LakeMaster PLUS gives you the freedom to choose how you want to use the aerial imagery.

The Satellite - Only This layer shows only aerial imagery and no other map information.
The Satellite - Land This layer shows the LakeMaster map and the aerial imagery that extends around the body of water.
The Satellite + Contours This layer shows the aerial imagery and just the LakeMaster contours so you can still pick out those features in the water while still seeing your depth.”

I would check the ChartSelect page on the Humminbird web site to see if Lake Hopatcong is what you need as it is the only High Def lake from the LakeMaster maps so far for New Jersey.  At only $9,95 it’s a lot less than paying for a regional chip that you don’t need.

If that isn’t the lake(s) you need HD coverage for you may consider going with the AutoChart or AutoChart Pro PC software and make your own maps.

You can always request a lake on the Humminbird web site: http://www.humminbird.com/Category/Company/Request-a-Lake/

thanks for your help Greg, I do fish some of the other lakes listed on the card but they are not hd maps like the Hopatcong one. Would the regular maps still prove helpful and show contour and structure ect?

I sure don't know bassmasterG13 but would not expect so.  I don't have one of those map cards to look at either.
