Hi all
I was out fishing yesterday and decided to give recording a go.The image is a 30 ton cat excavator that slipped off a barge while being transported to an island just off the coast of Makatu New Zealand about 4 to 5 years ago,It has only recently been discovered the cloudy areas around it are fish.

Wow Scott,
these are excellent pictures! Congratulations!

Did you find the digger or someone else?

12m isn't that deep. This would make an beautiful dive spot  :).

Robert, these recordings are great.  wish we had an FTP so we could get our hands on them and put them thru the paces of HV, YF and DV.   chuck

Hi Harry
No I did not find it I think it was found by divers but it took some time to find it 2 or 3 years I believe I guess they didint have SI.
The GPS coordinates I had were not exact but I found it on the first pass. It gets dived occasionally but I think more people fish it there was a lot of fish there but only small fish I suspect we headed further out But it was great to find it.

Cheers Scott

I am suprised that 2d did not find the digger.  Since it appears to be upright.  but then again maybe no one looked.  that large of target should show up on most any sonar.   chuck

Not to sure why it took so long to find it again but your probably right no one was looking for it.
But its certainly holding a lot of fish now.              Scott
