AutoChart Zero Line SD card on HELIX 7 (microSD)
« on: March 25, 2016, 09:54:25 AM »
From what I have read the custom maps created with AutoChart can only be loaded into the unit from the Zero Line SD card. The problem is that HELIX 7 (my device) has a microSD slot, and if I am not wrong, the Zero Lines card that comes with the Autochart software is a standard SD card (not micro).

So, my question is how can I load the custom chart into my unit?

I am asking that because I am willing to purchase the AutoChart PRO software for charting my own maps but if I will not be able to load them into my unit, it would not make any sense purchasing the charting software.

I purchased my AutoChart Pro from Tackle Warehouse (http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Humminbird_Lakemaster_Autochart/descpage-LMA.html#multiview) and the Zero Line card itself is a micro SD card that is in a SD card adapter.

Both AutoChart and AutoChart Pro now come with the micro SD Card in a SD Card adapter ...

Thank you both for this information.

Based on the product pictures available on the Humminbird website and considering the footnote present in the AutoChart description "*AutoChart is optional for select ONIX, ION, 1100, 900, 800, and 600 Series models. Compatibility subject to change without notice." I thought that the SD card packed with the software is a standard one.

The original AutoChart PC products came out before the HELIX 5 and 7 and was a full size SD Card ...

HELIX 5 and 7 require a micro SD Card and the AutoChart PC products since that time have been micro SD Card in a full size SD Card adapter ...

I suppose there is a slight possibility of getting an original version of AutoChart (with full size SD Card) that could have been sitting on a dealer's shelf for a long time ... But it would be rare ...

Thanks for bringing that to my attention because it might be possible that some EU dealers still have the previous version of the AutoChart software (with the standard SD card). I will check that specific detail with the dealer prior purchasing the product.

1 other thing I should mention so that there is no confusion ...

Mapping created and loaded onto the Zero Line card is not "loaded" into the head unit ... The Zero Line card becomes a regular LakeMaster map card with your custom contour detail ...

Any map data on any card (Navionics, LakeMaster, Zero Line card LakeMaster) is read directly from the card and "overlayed" onto the unit mapping background ...

The card must be in the unit for the unit to display the map data ...

Thanks for the clarification.

I was already aware that the newly created map in AutoChart is rendered from the Zero Lines card, so the card has to be inserted in the unit in order to display the custom mapping.
