Waypoint transfer question (Humminbird PC->SD->Unit)
« on: November 04, 2013, 04:16:25 PM »
Guys, your help needed:
For some reason I couldn't see any of my Humminbird PC waypoints after transferring them to SD card and putting it into the unit.
I have deleted all the waypoints from the unit and I have formatted the SD card after I downloaded all my waypoints to Humminbird PC. Then I uploaded information from the PC to the SD card.
Now all I can see on my SD card is a "matrix" folder with "DATA.HWR" file in it but no waypoints are available when I put my SD card in the unit and go to Nav->Waypoints and tracks (Simulation mode only since my GPS and transducer are on my boat and I am at mone with the head unit only).
Am I doing something wrong?

First:
HB units can be booted into 2 Simulators without a transducer attached.
Point-of-Sale Simulator Mode is the default when you boot and let the boot continue.  Any changes made will be discarded when rebooted.
Full-Simulator Mode can be entered by pressing Menu-key on boot-screen and selecting Simulator.  Any changes will be retained.

You want to boot into Full-Simulator.

After your HB unit is booted into Full Simulator, then insert the SD-card with your waypoints.  You should be prompted to load Yes/No, select Yes.

The MATRIX folder on a SD-card can contain several files.

DATA.HWR file will contain all waypoints and routes. HWR--> Humminbird Waypoints Routes
nn.HT files will contain any HB Tracks. Each Track has its .HT file, 000.ht, 001.ht, ... nnn.ht

Be sure to insert your SD-card AFTER the HB unit is running.

Sometimes on problems it is easier if we know the software levels of you HB unit and HBPC. . .

FYI.  Since you exported all your NAVDATA onto the SD-card, it was still there, so you could have just imported the waypoints back onto the unit.
Unless you were making HBPC changes.

And when I am uploading from HBPC  I almost always choose to Replace, not Add to a SD-card.

Thanks you so much for such a detailed reply!

Be sure to insert your SD-card AFTER the HB unit is running.

That was the reason:) Now everything works perfectly! Thank you!
