Left side of side imaging problem
« on: June 08, 2016, 06:33:16 AM »
The left side of my side imaging doesn't show detail anymore. If I turn around and go back in the direction I came, you can clearly see stumps etc on the right that should have shown up on the left.  Is this a transducer problem, or a software problem.  Thanks for looking.

Probably the transducer or blockage......but more info is needed.

What unit do you have?   Can you post some images of your transducer mount from different angles and also some screenshots showing the problem......We need to know what you are seeing.

Well it will be awhile before I can get pictures etc...I can say the unit is 898C and it was showing everything on the left and right before; and working fine up until my most recent fishing trip.

Check the xducer for algae buildup ...

Also check for damage in the housing and cable strain relief where the cable enters the housing ...

Can you crosstest another head unit on your xducer Setup ... ??

Mine worked great last year. But first time out I noticed the left side of my XHS-9 HDSI is looking pretty black almost like its not getting enough power to one side. Did some basic tests on the water such as: tried to wipe it with my hand incase something/or some bubbles were on it. Lifted the motor out of the water incase something was obstructing it, turn it on and off again. So I just increased the size of my right view and worked with that. At home inspecting the cables  and all looks good. I have now tried cleaning my transducer with diluted liquid detergent but have yet to test this out! I'm curious what fixes you're issue. I'll post back probably after the weekend if my cleaning it with detergent does anything(i've never cleaned mine and the manual states to do this) looks clean to me but who knows!

If your curious what fixed my issue was. Before I went out I looked at it again on the trailer and noticed the transducer seemed to move a little bit and was now at a slight angle, readjusted now its fine..
