Title: ONIX Power cord
Post by: Thermite on August 28, 2015, 12:57:19 PM
Currently my unit is wired to the fuse box at the console, we all know what that does to the unit each time you turn the key. I need to run wire back to the battery. Does HB make a power cord for the ONIX longer than 6' ? If not, what is the best way and what is the best material  to use?

I don't know about the HB available Onix power cable, but what I have used for wiring directly to the battery, and this has worked really well for me, is a 12 gauge 10' - 25' extension cord from the local Walmart.  I just cut the ends off of it and strip two of the leads for my battery terminals.  This will give you 3 - 12 gauge stranded conductors in a single jacket which makes it really easy to pull and the 3rd conductor gives you a spare if you ever need it.

HB would suggest 14 ... 12 is better ... I used 10 ...
