SDHC cards, 8 Gb, two of them FOR YOUR SONAR RECORDING  ;D
I have two SDHC cards, like new for sale. HB told me incorrectly that 8 Gb cards were the limit.  For my computing needs I wanted bigger cards but I got these and now am selling them so I can get bigger cards.

HB in their forum says any size will work,  a link click on next to see the HB claim:

Max SD Card Size?

SanDisk 8 gb SDHC card
TOPRAM 8 gb

sold as a group, both together.
total for both: $20 USD
Shipping is from USA zip code 85704 to your location, you pay shipping and insurance. I will ship international.

PayPal is payment method.

For domestic, purchase only, additional to PayPal method I could accept certified bank check but will not ship until check cleared.

Not interested in buying them (okay I am but wifey says "No"!  :'( ) but wanted to know if the TOPRAM 8GB actually worked and did the unit recognize that it had all 8GB available? (look in the Sonar and Snapshot Recording View)

Yes, they worked well, I only used them on demo modes but they worked recording, snap shots and way points and my PC reads them at 8Mb like all other cards.

I have two 16 by an off brand right now I am having trouble with as they load back to the PC very slowly.  I just got done formatting them and will play with them tonight.

The 8's worked great.

EDIT: Oh, Hi, Greg, I did not look at the name at first, sorry.  I have used TopRam before in other applications and that is why I choose it as I knew they were legit and worked well.  They are common on Ebay and Amazon.  But $20 for both is a real deal.

Thanks P.Pike,
I was wondering of the Humminbird correctly recognized the full 8MB capacity of these 8GB memory cards since they were not the SanDisk brand.  Always trying to keep an eye out for this sort of thing as it takes Engineering a while before they get the software changed to work with some memory card brands and sizes.

Be careful formatting the SDHC memory cards in your computer as most do not have the correct formatting software and will reformat them as a 2GB memory card (or something less than what they are).

Gert,
Do you mean do we have a list of recommended and non-recommended brands?  We do recommend SanDisk brand as we know that they follow the SD Card Manufacturer’s Associations specifications for SD and SDHC cards but we don’t have any brands that we specifically don’t recommend.  This is why I was asking about the TOPRAM brand memory cards as I was curious if they actually worked or not.

As for performance as well, the SanDisk Extreme III offer faster read/write speeds that allows the unit to save data faster like a snapshot image.  Some standard cards can take as much as 5-7 seconds to save the data and an Extreme III can save it in 2 seconds.

I have notice that.  It looks like the screen freezes and you realize it is saving.  Now for some pro use and such I can see the expense of the III card.  But the cost difference does not justify the speed difference for hobby and recreational use.
