Transducer Mounting Experts Please
« on: July 26, 2018, 08:28:12 PM »
Hey guys, just got a Helix 9 SI Mega and super excited! I'm installing the transducer and was hoping to use the existing screw holes. Below is a picture of the existing holes, then the other two pictures show that there are two screw holes that line up with bracket in two different ways. I wanted to see what some of you would do in this situation...Should I just use the two holes that line up and drill a third?

Thanks so much!!!

I personally would take the opportunity to mount a transducer mounting plate on the transom using the existing holes to help secure it along with some adhesive.  Then I would mount my new transducer to the plate knowing that if adjustments are needed they can be made without drilling any new holes in the actual transom.  Also prepares you for the future as you upgrade/change electronics without the need for additional holes in hull of the boat.
