Severed DI transducer cable
« on: April 11, 2015, 07:24:14 PM »
I somehow managed to get my DI transducer cord in my trolling motor bracket while deploying and severed the cable. Can you reattach the individual cables by soldering or anyother way?  I bought a new transducer but if I can fix this to have a backup I would.

I'm going to try and attach a photo.

Welcome to the Humminbird Side imaging Forums Bergy1.

Yes, if you can solder and seal each connection as well as reattach (overlap) the outside foil shielding) and waterproof the whole thing, this can be done.  On a trolling motor though you really have to make sure and get the outer foil shielding reconnected or you could start seeing trolling motor interference.
