Title: gps not working ??

My 997 unit GPS is not working now. It started awhile back and would work and then not work. Well now its not working at all. Is there someway to check to see if its the unit, wiring or ?
Thanks a bunch.  My unit is awesome and love it.

Randy, check the connector.  Slightly bend the pins out a little and see if this helps. 

Do you have any other accessories connected?  If so, try disconnecting all and hook the gps directly to the unit.

Randy,  when the gps stops showing is it the position on the screen that goes blank.  when it stops have you gone to the GPS diag view and does it show any satelites?   chuck

Randy,
See if you can find someone else that has a Humminbird sonar-GPS unit and connect your 997 up to their connections.  If the GPS works than its either the GPS Receiver on your boat or the wiring/connections on your boat.

Thanks guys.  I will try the suggestions.  A crappie guide seen the 997 in my comm fishing boat and said 'must be nice'  I replied 'it sure is'.  ;D
