I just thought I would pass along that I met with our local county rescue squad tonight and announced that I would assist them in searches if needed with my Humminbird 1198. as everyone is on a tight budget, our county rescue squad has limited funds and myself being a member of the Humminbird Regional Field/pro staff, I felt it was a call of service that I wanted to do. They are now wanting to plan a mock/training search on a local body of water to just see how thing really work. I carry my boat as well as my laptop to the meeting to let them see the latest technology up close. Personally, I HOPE THEY NEVER HAVE TO CALL ME for assistance. It is the least I can do of owning one of these fine units and being associated with the Humminbird team. Just thought i would pass this along and I hope that many of you who own a side image unit will do the same...no matter what size you may own. Thnx.....

My respect for your decision Calli!
It's good to have people like you on the water. Sometimes it's just not enough what the agencies who are in charge have at hand on the hardware side.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll be never called out to assist, but if it's the case: Always a hand-width and good luck!!!
