Topic: ILink remote not updating

My apologies if this has already been asked.  I searched for a while and could not find anything.   I have a 899CI HD SI, an 859CI HD and a Terrova with ILink all connected through the 5PXG.   I attempted to update everything tonight and all went well with the exception of the remote.  When I put the remote update on the SD card and plugged it in nothing happened (I saw nothing on the graph screen).   When selecting Settings Softkey > Update Software > OK on the remote it says no software updates found.  So I am at 7.590 on the graphs, 2.150 on the ILink controller and I am still at 1.60 on the remote.  I followed the instructions exactly, it said update the units, then the controller, then the remote (see exact instructions below).  Any ideas what might be going wrong?

Remote update instructions from download page:

1. Update the software in your Humminbird unit per the units software instructions
2. Update the software on your Minn Kota i-Pilot Link Controller per the Controllers instructions.
3. Save Remote software to an SD card.
4. Insert the SD card into the card reader slot of the unit.
5. The remote load must first be loaded onto the controller before beginning the next step
6. From the Remote Home screen, select: Settings Softkey > Update Software > OK.
7. From this screen, select the Update option.
8. A message saying Software Updating will appear along with a progress bar. After that, another message saying Programming Flash will appear along with a progress bar.
9. After the second progress bar finishes, the remote will automatically restart.
10. Update the Link Controller
11. Cycle power the trolling motor to regain proper motor control.

I had this same issue. If you read somewhere in either the controller or remote instructions, it said to put both the controller and remote update files on the SD card, then try again. I got it to work by doing this.

From humminbird:
"If, when performing this update, the i-Pilot Link Remote software is still not successfully downloading, perform the following steps:

First, upload Controller version 2.150 as a SINGLE FILE on your SD card. Make sure there are no other files on the SD card when uploading the 2.150 software.
Second, upload the remote software as a separate file on the SD card."

So give that a try - copy both the controller and remote update files on to the SD and power up. After you see the update prompts, follow the regular steps you posted above.
