Title: HUMMINBIRD 967 ISSUE
Post by: paula 8519 on August 11, 2012, 05:13:15 AM
I have a  Humminbird 967c which has developed an issue, the head unit is not recognising the transducer, a message appears on the screen at start up which reads transducer not connected, the unit  stays in simulation mode, it does this in air. I have a second 967 unit which does not do this, the unit recognises the transducer and goes into normal mode while the unit is in air. Any suggestions or is this a return to humminbird, any thoughts would be appreciated.

paula 8519, try exchanging ternsducers between the units.

If the second unit has the same issue replace the transducer, if not reapair the fist unit.

paula 8519, test the units with the transducer in water and not air.  There may be nothing wrong with either unit or transducer.  The 967 units cannot use the same transducer recognition that many other units use and so are less likely to correctly identify whether a transducer is connected while it is in air.
