Title: Reset Autochart License
Post by: emerles on February 13, 2019, 03:34:24 AM
I bought a Helix 7 and Autochart Pro some month ago.
I installed Autochart on my desktop computer and on my laptop in a VMware.
Now my desktop crashed and I bought a new desktop PC.

How can we reset the license from my crashed PC to my new PC.
I adressed this topic already to Humminbird via contact form on the homepage, but there was no answer.

Also I would like to transfer my second license from the VMware directly to my laptop.

What do I have to do?

Best regards

Wolfgang

When I had this same problem I contactied Humminbird through their contact form but it did take a couple of days (submitted on a Sunday and response received on Wednesday) before they responded and changed their system to allow me to reinstall AutoChart Pro.

To install on a second device you should be able to deactivate that license on the VMware and then reinstall it again but I would check with Humminbird to verify.

Ok, I will wait for the response of Humminbird.

Humminbird did not answer my contact form up till now.
Therefore I gave back the license from the VMware and installed Autochart on my new desktop computer.
The activation of this version went well.
So far so good.

But I would like to use Autochart on my new laptop as well with the second license.
So I have to wait for Humminbird to solve that issue.

Another problem came up after the installation of Autochart on my desktop computer.
I was not able to generate a background map, because the zeroline card was not recognized.
I will open up another threat about this topic.

Rickie

I have called the telephone number in Spain, because I am located in Germany and this is cheaper to call Spain than to call USA.
But the number is not assigned.

Is there a mail adress to be adressed with my issue?

If you think it can't get worse, it is getting more worse.

The mainboard of my new desktop computer crashed and now Autochart is not running anymore on my desktop computer.
I tried to get in contact with Humminbird by chat, but they gave me a mail adress instead.
So I send  a mail to Humminbird, but no responce up till now.

I purchased Autochart in 2018 and now I am in a situation that I can not use Autochart any longer, because both licenses are locked.

So, I resend the mail to the Humminbird service again today with the invoices of Autochart, the Helix7, the laptop, the desktop computer and the mainboard exchange confirmation of the PC dealer.

Now the Humminbird service answered my mails and the contact forms today.
They have reset the license and both computers are working fine now.

I have several map programs for Humminbird and Lowrance, all have the same problems in my opinion.  Whenever there is computer problem, the licenses are lost and you have to jump thru hoops to get it reinstated (most times).  I have had some reps refuse to help me and I would have to call back several times before I would get some one to help me.  What I do not understand, is why don't these companies issue a dongle with the mapping programs so that it would make it easy to move the program from computer to computer and protect there software?.  I just purchased Autochart Pro and will be anxious about my computer going nuts.  I use to reformat my computers every few years, cannot do that anymore with these softwares.  I have lost the use of software even after deactivating it before reformatting.
