Navionics Hotmaps Premium Owners
« on: July 23, 2012, 05:41:37 PM »
I'm thinking of buying the Navionics Hotmaps Premium East SD card for my Humminbird 597.

The lake I fish on (Hoover Reservoir, OHIO) is not an "HD" lake according to Humminbird.  So, I'm wondering what contours are available for my "non-HD" lake.  I emailed HB and got no response, and I cannot find a local store that has the SD card open for demo.  How can I see an example of my lake before plunking down the $140 for the card?

If there is anyone out there who can somehow take a screen shot of any portion of my lake  (Hoover Reservoir, OHIO) and email it to me I would sure appreciate it.

Give navionics a call tomorrow.  Tell them your trying to decide whether to buy a card and ask if they can send you some screenshots via email of the local lake/lakes you fish.  They did it for me right over the phone and he explained in detail what all the markers and everything that was on the screenshot meant. I was trying to decide whether to buy navionics or lakemaster.  For my area navionics was the better choice.  Great CS as well.  I love my hotmaps platinum. Premium should be very nice as well.

I have both Navionics and Lakemaster electronic maps on my HB units.  Each one is good and display things a little different.  Not sure that I could pick which one is the best.

Hi Ricky,
Newkid4si from the SI website here.
Is Pymatuning Lake ( on Ohio/Pa. border) on your chip in the detail similar to what you posted for skipt?
I had Navionics send me sample shots and they looked terrible.
My chip is from 2006 and only has the lake outline. I'd spring for a new one with that detail.
                      Thanks
                      Mike

Thanks for the images. They are better than what I have now, but not as good as another source I've found.
