998 in hull mount question
« on: May 18, 2012, 02:28:11 PM »
I am getting ready to put the puck ducer in my Ranger. I just noticed that it is the XP 9 20 T. Will my temp sensor in the standard side scan ducer mounted on the stern still work, if I don't mount the Temp probe on the puck? Of course I noticed this after I opened the package so I can't exchange it. I will be using the AS SIDB Y adapter cable.  I'm hoping I can just ignore temp probe cable. Thanks.

That's a very good question, and I think that
Greg is THE ONLY ONE that can answer it.

Good Luck.

I dont know if this applies but there was a post a while back about having two temp displays and with the new upgrade code one of them gets dropped.
Dont remember the details but will look for it and see if I can repost in here..

Sorry 6speedy3, been conducting a training class today.
The temperature of the XP-9-20-T transducer will not be electrically connected to when using the AS-Si-DB-Y cable.  So you do not have to worry about mounting it.

It is still going on 6speedy3 and my student is doing quite well.  Soldering training for her this week and she is catching on very quickly (women are better solders than men anyway).  New round of solder training for four more Employees starting next week… its good to be employed!
