Where to save raw data to be processed?
« on: October 04, 2021, 09:24:54 PM »
After a while reading several posts I am still confused about where to save raw data obtained during acquisition (AutoChart live with Solix, helix, apex, etc). So, I must buy Zero line cards for this or I can simply use regular card disks such as those from ScanDisk. Also, I read that files saved to zero line cards are only in ACU format, while those saved to other cards (eg. ScanDisk) are in SON/DAT format, is it right? Any hint is appreciated.

Best,

GM

All the AutoChart products must be used with the Zero Line card  ...

A regular SD Card is for Nav data, ScreenShots, or recording Sonar  ...

A recording on a regular SD Card can be imported into the AutoChart PC program to create custom maps  ... but must then be exported to a Zero Line card to be used in the HB unit as a map card  ...

Thanks Rickie, I understand that ReefMaster will use SON/DAT/HT raw data for further processing/analyses (and also viewed simultaneously as in here
, for example the 2D echogram with the mosaic), which means that the raw data (the one I am interested in) should be saved to SD cards, please correct me if this is wrong.

You are correct. Sonar recording is written directly to a regular SD Card (32gb max)  ...
