SI in deep lakes with fish on half water usefull?

I am selecting one of the Helix ff. To choose i want to know if SI is usefull for fishing in deep water, 50-100mtr (150-300 f) with fish at 30-40 feet. ( Lavaret at french lakes). Is SI or MSI usefull or is in that cae only DI or MDI usefull. Normaly i fish static on anchor. Thanks

a friend that uses SI a lot tells me 30 fts is about max useful depth , i am new to it just learning for now .

Thanks, but is the 30ft in shallow water or fish till 30 feet. Can he use it in deep watersnto see groups or single fishes at depths till max 30 ft?

after speaking with my friend he said you can use si deeper but just to a point by using the different frequencies to see what works best for you , i want to use it to find bait balls and he said possible even see fish but with lower frequencies not clear .
