Watching Recordings On TV

Is it possible to watch your recordings on a TV directly from your helix unit using an Ethernet to HDMI adapter?  This would bypass the use of Humviewer.

Interesting idea  ...

Try it and let us know  ... I don’t see how it could hurt anything in the unit  ...

It will be a couple of weeks before I can.  In the mean time if someone else tries they can post results here.

Hi Bayou

It is easiest if you connect your laptop to the television and play your recordings using HumViever.
If your 899ci HD Si also has a direct TV connection, my 898 has one, so your recordings could be played.

Hi Rudiger.  Yes I know, I've been watching recordings using a hdmi cable between laptop and tv for many years.  Just wondering if recordings might be sharper connecting 'bird directly to a high def tv.  It doesn't look like a Humminbird ethernet cable has the same connections as a computer or tv ethernet.  If it was you could use an ethernet to hdmi adapter.

Weather is crazy here.  Can you believe in West Monroe, Louisiana we have 5 inches of snow on the ground?

Hi bayou bassist

I don't think there is any ready made device that converts the HB ethernet signal into a television readable signal.
The old devices had a direct video output with a corresponding cable and that gave a very good picture on the TV.
