Title: Trolling motor interference
Post by: Jerry rammm on June 10, 2013, 08:41:33 PM
I have a problem with interference with the site image screen on my 798SI CI unit purchased in 2012.  The interference is coming from a motor guide 90 brute trolling motor.  Many solutions have been tried with no success. Ground wires have been run from the trolling motor and main batteries to the trolling motor. The power wire has been distanced from other power wires and moved to the main battery power panel. I have heard about a choker that may work for this problem. Can anyone help?

Your best option would be to contact the Humminbird Customer Resource folks about this.  1-800-633-1468

If all else fails, and it's possible for you, hook your sonar to a dedicated
battery that nothing else is hooked to.
It does not have to be a large battery.
