Title: 2 HDSI's + 1 Dualbeam installed.. Slight issues..
Post by: Jw2000uk on April 09, 2013, 02:05:32 PM
Hi everyone..

Got a 998si latest firmware..

2 x hdsi ducers in a AS SILR Y cable

And 1 x 2d/dual XTH 9 20 P (but mounted inside the boat). In a AS SIDB Y cable,

So...    AS silr y plugged into AS sidb y cable, then in the 998..

But the problem is the unit is getting depth and temp readings from the 2d ducer.. Wich is a pain, as its in hull its not accurate like the transom hdsi's.

Is there any way of making the right hdsi do temp and depth over the 2d transducer?

What is the poll for?

When using the AS-Si-DB-Y cable the water temperature will always come from Si transducer.  With the As-Si-LR-Y cable that water temperature will always come from the right Si transducer.  So your water temperature is coming from the right HDSi transducer in your configuration (read the notes at the top of the image you posted).

The 2D sonar will always come from the 2D transducer that you are using since you are using the AS-Si-DB-Y cable.  There is no way around this unless you disconnect the As-Si-DB-Y cable.

You mentioned that you have the XTH-9-20-P transducer and you state that it is: “(but mounted inside the boat)”.  Why would you do this, it should be mounted thru the hull with its transducer part sticking out below the hull.

Sure, take the AS-Si-DB-Y cable out of the configuration.

Posted it on my iphone, And the Poll was default for some reason..

Strange, Because mine is getting the temp from the 2d.. I tested, the in-hull temp .. then the Si temp.. (By plugging them in the 998 separate)..

In hull was obviously a higher temp..Then after plugging all in through the cables again,it was the 2d one reading temp..

Im glad the 2D sonar comes from the 2D transducer, But its reading the Depth for SI-DI & 2D... and in shallow water (Under 6ft) looses it... Where if the right SI unit was getting the depth, This wouldn't happen..

I got the XTH-9-20-P Cheap, and i researched, That a transducer is a transducer.. So it would do the same job as a in hull :-/

If i take the as-si-db-y out of the config, then i'll prob loose readings at high speed?
