Title: Questions: transducer extension cable use and the GRHA GPS receiver ...
Post by: Drifter on October 29, 2009, 09:43:12 AM

1) There was a warning in the clam shell package for the EC-W10 stating not to power up the unit using the extension without a transducer attached. Would doing this damage the  head unit or just "confuse it"?

2) I recently placed an order for a GRHA GPS receiver from J & H Products. I received an email this morning from John saying that the GRHA are on backorder and that he is "being told today that Humminbird discontinued them". He has since removed them from his site. Can anyone confirm or deny that Humminbird has discontinued the GRHA (and if so - why)?

Thanks,
Darrell

1) It could damage the transmitter in the unit.  Not sure how much of chance there is of this and with which units but the warning was put there for a reason.

2) Yes sadly this is true.  I was told that low sales volume and the fact that the GRHA was not that much more accurate than the GR50 turned out to be, were the reasons for it being discontinued.  I would look around some more and get one while you can.

HB Greg,

Thanks for your reply.
