Title: Bow GPS puck mounting location.
Post by: Gattlin on March 25, 2012, 11:58:07 AM
I,m getting ready to install the GPS puck on the bow and about the only reasonable place is next to the trolling motor. That way a person can still step on the flat part up on the bow. My question is has anyone mounted the puck right next to the trolling motor and how will this effect it's reception?

The trolling motor will physically block satellite reception from that direction.  This may r may not affect the overall accuracy of your position (depending on available satellites and their position in the sky).

I woujld try the bow mount as a temporary location and see if yoyu get any blockage.

I really dont see this as an issue..

Internal GPS is much more sensitive to blockage..
