Title: Life streaming to shore
Post by: kentman on September 12, 2021, 07:29:09 AM
Hi all

I'd like to live stream a search from my Solix 15 to shore, as it happens. Our waterways are often less than 100ft across but I'd like the option to stream to a remote location too. I've found an app that live streams a mirror image of my phone screen to a website, that any connected device can watch online. This sounds good as I don't have to rely on transmitting a wifi signal across waterway and it works with any phone that has a cell signal. There's a 7 second transmission lag but that doesn't matter here.

I'm assuming I can't put this app on the Solix but I wonder if anyone has connected to their phone (or tablet) to their Solix and got a mirror of their Solix screen on the phone or table? It could then be transmitted ashore to anywhere.

Our Solix 15 is a G2 so has bluetooth and ethernet, so I wondered of there a device that would plug into the ethernet port and transmit a screen feed via wifi, the 12 inches to my phone on the boat. The phone would then stream it anywhere. Happy with ideas or experience. If anyone has solved this another way without spending thousands I'd like to hear from them. I am not a techy, as you may have guessed....

Thanks

I'm able to do this with my Helix to display (especially) the SI on two external 16" displays (one for left, one for right  :o). For your S&R you could hang a 60" 4K Display on it to see sunken cars and corpses in life size.  ;D
Sending the processed image as mpeg video stream to a phone wouldn't be any problem.
Unfortunately Humminbird decided to make the Apex, Solix, Helix not network compatible. So my solution will not work with your Solix.
But if someone would like to sponsor a Solix I will integrate it into my app.  ;D
It would be a very nice feature to train newbies if the screen could be mirrored over the internet. I thought about that a while ago.
If you have the possibility to connect two Solix via ethernet hub and be able to connect a PC we can build that thing.  ;)

Yep the 60", 4 k is the dream. I found in the manual that it does send out sonar data to compatible software device, meaning another solix head but I don't want to buy another at the mo. I'm wondering if a laptop receiving data from the ethernet could run it live, through hummviewer or something similar?
