I just switch from Solix G1 to Solix G3. I couldn't wait to see the difference with the mega PLUS (+) . First day out and I'm not sure this is right. Played with sensitivity between 12-14, contrast around 12, of course it was on Mega. I don't understand, my range is only 50 feet and I'm in 6 feet of water and it's a very dull image ! I do have to mention that I used my old transucer from my Solix G1 ( didn't have time to change for the new one, but I figured it would be ok since it's the same transducer for both, and that it was working fine before ) I am correct to say that G1 and G3 have the same tranducer, right ? .... Any thoughts ?

Yes, I just noticed that. I had called HB and they told me that my Solix G1 transducer was compatible with my G3. I just compared them and they look totally different. I will install the new one now. THANKS For the info !!

You misunderstood the answer. Solix G1 transducer cannot be compatible with Solix G3

Rickie, I received confirmation from support that 2-3rd generation sensor works on the 1st one if the software is updated to version 3.980
Compatible with: All APEX models, SOLIX 10 SI, SOLIX 10 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G2, SOLIX 10 CHIRP MEGA SI+ G3, SOLIX 12 SI, SOLIX 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G2, SOLIX SI, SOLIX 15 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G2, SOLIX 15 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3.

It’s important to note that “compatible” is not the same as “optimum” ...
Definitely SOLIX G3 settings can be changed to use a G1 xducer - but that’s reducing the optimum performance of the G3 unit functions ...
Transducers (between model years) are different to add performance gains in new technologies (even tho HB allows unit settings options for using different/older transducers) ...
Surely, there is no damage worry in default settings with the older G1 xducer - but optimum images are going to be obtained by using the stock G3 xducer ...

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to make an update. So I installed the transducer that came with the G3 and everything is perfect now ! It really was the the G1 Transducers
