This functionality is available from the "Nav" menu, under "Waypoints, Routes, Tracks":

Move the cursor up to the "Options" item, press the right arrow buton and from there, you can:

"Select All and..."     Export (to MMC/SD card)

How do you import data from one Humminbird to another.(new 998).. I exported the waypoints from the 397 to an sd card. When I put the card in, I couldnt find any place to import them.  I thought it was gonna be a plug and play import.  No?

Hate to see her go, but love to watch her leave.

Turn the unit on first then insert the card.

Yep, that was a change with the last software update (well, the one before that on some units...).

Thanks wolf and Greg.

I got the data exported from the 597 onto an SD card. Then I fired up the 998 and inserted the card and it gave me a notice that the installation was successfully completed, but when I rebooted the unit, there  was no waypoints on my lake..  Any ideas?

Thanks

Go into the waypoint management menus and see if you can find any of those waypoints.  Make sure that they are not set to hidden or in a group that is hidden.

I tried that, and couldnt find any waypoints, or groups.   its odd. its not that big of a deal for the guy that owns the unit, because I think he only had  6 waypoints in his 597. lol.. It still bugs me though when stuff like this happens,

Rollie,
Unless you loaded the waypoints when the unit was running in the default Simulator mode they should be in there somewhere.  ???

Greg,  The unit was on the boat at the time I loaded it with transducer and gps connected..  The 597 was on temporary power, and wasnt hooked up to transducer or gps though..

i did export my waypoints and trails from my 997 and was able to upload them into the 998, so I think if theres a problem, it may be on the 597s side, but its Ok, because that units going away..

I'm not going to send in the 998.  After playing around with it some more,(I think I explained it to you in a PM)  I am able to zoom in and out readily now. The zoom in button requires a little bit harder push than it should, but its been getting better with usage..

Hate to see her go, but love to watch her leave.
