Power wire size?
« on: May 20, 2012, 10:47:29 AM »
Rewiring boat and want to extend my power source wire for my 898csi as it is not long enough.  Would like to get something just like what it is now (two wires inside).  What gauge is this wire and where would be places to purchase?  Would Menards or Blaines have it?

thanks, Fuzz

The is 18 gauge and you can get it either of the stores and Walmart as well.

One wire is red the other is black, red is the Hot wire (+) and black is the ground (-), suggest that you keep the wire colors in case you or someone else down the road need to do some work.

There are a lot of opinions on this.

I would recommend reading this thread  http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?topic=3686.msg23330#msg23330
