Title: Autochart Custom Shorelines not appearing on head unit
Post by: lancepeterson on May 03, 2016, 11:33:27 PM
Getting my mapping project ready for the season and ran into an issue. I created a wide variety of custom shorelines for a river with outlines for islands etc. Looks great inside of AC Pro but when I load everything on the head unit, a 999, none of the custom shorelines show up only my Lakemaster depth map/layer is there. It's not a huge deal because of the new option allowing for satellite IMG layers & I can convert the Google KML into a Hummingbird track representing the shoreline but I would prefer to have shorelines move over to the ZLC as is, if possible. Am I missing something or is this a known issue?

DS gave that a shot with no luck.   In areas where my data meets the shoreline things are fine, but in areas with no data the shoreline is not outlined.  On another forum CamoHunter mentioned this was a issue.  I would love to see a "fill option" to fill a uncharted water body so the shoreline shows up.

lance,
thinking "outside the box"
could you draw the outline  of the waterbody in question
save in  qgis or similar,,,,, by creating  a color filled poygon
then export as shp file
then import to AC???
or alternatively maybe beter for you.....
 do similar in google earth
save image...... satellite overlay or colored polygon (whichever u choose)to create as well save as kml
and use the image file as a background  IMG with transparency  within AC

probably a lot of work depends on what u need it for
hope that makes sense
