Title: side scan transducer on troll motor
Post by: hoselrocket on January 28, 2010, 07:05:32 PM
Hi does anyone have their SI transducer on their trolling motor.  If so:  do you like it.  does it have any disadvantages.  I currently have my 997csi mounted on the bow and i have my transducer on the transom  .  Does the constant rotation of the trolling motor distort the picture?  i think that every time i turn the boat with the troll motor that the transducer turns along with the lower unit and will effect the picture, is this a concern that i should have?  Can i connect 2 transducers and use a switch to go from bow transducer to transom?

Thank you in advance for your help

I have SI on my Trolling motor.  I did take it off and installed a Quadra Beam, but when DownImaging came out I reinstalled the SI transducer on my trolling motor and I do like it.  I am running with DownImagining and 2D side by side, not sure that I will spend much time looking at SI on it.

The 2D gives me a lot of info and the DI clears up some areas for me so I like the 2 images side by side.

I hope this helps.
