"Awesome, dude" was my first thought.

You just made a sale, thanks for your hard work!

I can only imagine how valuable this might be to S&R guys as well.

Now I got to go find a display for the boat.  Any chance of an iPAD app?

(not too greedy, am I, LOL)

Sorry, no Ipad app for this...

If I was to buy a PC/display myself right now I would get an Acer Iconia w500
('pad' runinng windows...).

On the rotational scan how far in the forward direction does it look?
How does or will this compare to sector scan and forward looking sonar?
Does the boat have to be moving....?
Only curious as to how this will apply to SAR....

The transducer is rotated +/-95 degrees (relative the 'normal' transom mount),
so you'll get 360 degrees coverage from the L+R channels.
The range you see is just like the range on 'normal' sidescan (with the same
implication as for usable range etc). The image quality is greatly improved
by slowing down the turn rate a bit, in particular for longer ranges.
And you do not need to move. The image above the YouTube clip (on the page
the link took you to) is taken when just lying still at the dock.

Your website mentions a homemade rotational device.

Do you provide instructions to build it?

Seems like it would be a good way to keep contact with a moving school of fish or baitfish.

The main components of the rotational driver are an RC servo plus a USB servo driver (cost about $40).
The parts needed to connect the servo to the transducer, and attach the whole thing to your boat,
cost from $0 an upwards, depending on what you have in your scrap box. My rig is based on
a MinnKota Endura series transom mount + main shaft.
For more instructions, please email me directly.

Wow, this looks fantastic.  Now if only the servo could be integrated with the transducer into a watertight housing, I'd have a very low cost imaging navigation sonar for my ROV.
