Title: Water Turbulence Effect on Transducer
Post by: 95Ranger on April 18, 2016, 10:08:47 PM
The MinnKota trolling motor has the skeg on the front of the motor. If a Helix 10 SI transducer is mounted right behind the skeg, will the water turbulence from the skeg reduce  the quality of the side images and down images?

It would be very unlikely that the TM skeg would cause water turbulence to the extent of degrading the imaging ...

You could test this yourself by making a snapshot of recording of the xducer an and off the TM ...

I have seen turbulence from a TM on high speed as the bubbles pass by the transom mounted HDSI ...but that turbulence would be from the TM prop ...

Thanks for the reply. I wanted to make sure that this was not going to be a problem before I purchased a MinnKota trolling motor with the skeg on the front.
