Topic: 998C SI - Can't create new waypoints

I'm having difficulty creating new waypoints on my 998. Whenever I press the "mark" key I get the message "saved successfully," but no new waypoint is created. I searched this forum and I see where others have suffered from the same problem, but I'm unclear how to resolve the issue. I believe the "screen snapshots" option is turned on (I haven't had to a chance to go back and check) and the only memory card installed in my unit is a Navionics map card. I also recently updated to the latest firmware. To resolve the issue do I need to turn the "screen shots" option off? If this is the case, what if I want to record screenshots and save waypoints? Is this a firmware issue?

You need to either install a blank memory card (not another mapping card) or turn off the Screen Snapshot feature.
