Title: Dr.Depth with Ethernet or nmea

I was wondering what would be the better choice to connect my laptop to my new 998c SI running Dr.Depth, Ethernet or NMEA?  What will give me the most functionality?  Are there times specific to each type?

In any case Ethernet, HB NMEA does not work for this ???!!!
Just so, for example, live side scan mosaic possible.
You need a original HB Ethernet-cable that you will share, and then you must press a RJ45 plug onto the free end. The pin assignment can be found in the Help menu of DrDepth.

Not true, HB NMEA works just fine, you just got to connect it the right way (which happens to be through
the 'pigtail'/cable stump comming off the GPS cable plug).

For DrDepth:

- NMEA will give you depth + position data, so if you only want to map depth that's all you'll need.

- If you want live sidescan mosaic and/or live bottom hardness you will need to use ethernet (and
  in that case you do not need NMEA, position data is avaiable on ethernet as well).

So if I follow then with the Ethernet cable it will give me depth, position, sidescan mosaic and live bottom hardness without needing to connect to the NMEA pigtail on the GPS.  Yes or no?  Making the Ethernet cable will be easy enough.
