Processsing Speed
« on: March 22, 2015, 07:54:40 AM »
Question.... does upgrading to latest version of firmware affect the processing speed? It seems every version not only fixes known bugs, which is good, but they add functionality for new accessories and are ever increasing file size. This would be bad if these changes slow the unit's processor.  That would have to be considered before updating to allow accessories that you don't intend to install.

I have never seen a complaint that updating the software has made the unit slower ..... The versions after 6.49 definitely screwed up the 2D performance.....That may have been fixed in the latest release, but the jury is still out on that.

Having too many waypoints in your unit will degrade the performance.  It is good to get a system going to organize them by lake and only have the ones for the lake you are fishing in the unit.
