I am adding a 3rd unit to my boat. Will all the ethernet stuff work with the 1197s? The switch and cables?

What are you meaning by “all the Ethernet stuff” and “The switch and cables”?
The 1197 cannot use/share resources as well as say a new 1199 unit but it does have some Ethernet capabilities.

You can share transducers, gps and waypoints.   I  have 1198, 1197 and a 899.

I want to share waypoints and an aux temp between an 1197, 1197, and 1158.

Should not be a problem.
You will need the 5-Port Ethernet Switch (AS-ETH-5PXG) to connect all three together.

Having trouble getting the Aux Temp shared over the network. 1197s are running 6.310 and the 1158 is running 6.900. I can share waypoints and transducer just not temps.

I have an 1197 and 1198 networked. The temp can be shared if you select the same temp on the network tab with both units. My 1197 is 6.64 thoughand 1198 using the latest(7.09). Not sure that will make a difference or not. Bob

When I first started messing with network settings I found out there was a newer ethernet manual than I had. The manual number ended with a "2". Much more helpful with newer features. Bob
