« on: June 08, 2011, 06:47:01 AM »
Can I run two units off of one si transducer? And if so is their a way to do it without using a switch?

I have an 898c and 1198c that use one transducer, they are connected with the Ethernet cable. If your units have that connection its very easy to do.

I wish it was that simple but one of my units is the 997 which doesn't have ethernet. The other unit is a 1197.

You cannot do this with the 997c unit as it does not have the Ethernet connection…   :'(

Maybe sell your 997c and replace it with the 998c Si unit or really get into trouble and go for the 1198c Si!  >:D

Greg, Is it possible to run two si transducers off the back of the boat or will that cause interference between the units?

Not really.  You would get both 2D sonar and Si sonar interference unless you somehow mounted one Si transducer behind the other and than you could still get 2D sonar interference.  Not sure how far behind this would have to be though.
