Title: Converting HB WPTs, Tracks and Routes to Lowrance
Post by: Bayou Basser on February 05, 2017, 01:40:39 PM
I have not been on the forums site in quite awhile so this question may have already been answered.  I have a friend who has a Lowrance unit and I would like to share my waypoints, tracks and routes with him.  Is it possible to convert this HB data to a Lowrance unit?  If so, how?

Yes you can do that ..... I haven't but have read posts from people who have.  I think it also depends on what format is used to export the waypoints from Lowrance.

If you do a Google search "Converting Lowarance Waypoints To Humminbird" you will get a number of helpful hits.  I think some use a combination of GpsBabel and Humminbird PC.

BOB, I may not have been clear.  My unit is an 899si and I want to share this data with my friend who has a Lowrance.

Thanks, Bayou Basser

Thanks Bob for suggesting the Google.  gpsbabel.org/download.html has a free and very easy download program.  The website bbcboards.net explains how to use the download.

Hope this is helpful.

Good fishing to all.  Water temp here in Louisiana is around 60 degrees and the largemouth bass are shallow.

Yes, GPSBabel is a great tool for this.   You should export your data from your Humminbird unit to a SD card, them load it into Humminbird PC.   Once loaded in Humminbird PC, it is saved as a .GPX format.   So in GPSBabel convert from .GPX to which ever Lowrance format you wish to use.
