map cards
« on: July 18, 2015, 11:41:03 AM »
I have a 1199 at my console and an 898 on my trolling motor. Both with Navionic premium hotmap cards in them. I am looking at getting the lakemaster card because of the HD on certain lakes. Can I put a lakemaster card in the 1199 and leave the navionics card in the 898? Both units are connected together with the Ethernet cable. Will this work?

Yes ..... Waypoint sharing will not be affected by the mapping card.

The waypoints exist in the units memory, not on the mapping card.  The waypoints are just "overlaid" on the mapping image from the map card.

If you are viewing a waypoint on one mapping card .... remove it from the unit and insert the other mapping card, the waypoint will show up on the other mapping card ......Mapping and waypoint / GPS data are independent things.
