Title: Ethernet Port on 898cx SI
Post by: Enufzed on December 08, 2010, 04:26:46 PM
Hi Greg,
Thanks for the answers and previous help with my HB. Could you tell me
please what the point/plug located in the middle and at the rear of the
control head is for . I have been through the operations manual and it
does not show or identify this plug at all on the Control Head page
until the following page but does not number or identify it. It is
actually a threaded eight-pin plug and has a rubber cover.

I thought that this was covered in the manual
though and will have to take a quick look see for myself now...
Yep.  There it is just as I suspected: it is shown in one drawing and
missing in others but never labeled or mentioned!  This is the Ethernet
connector (see attached drawing).  It is not being used right now but
plans are to roll out some software and introduce the connections cables
(with their own operations manual that shows this connector on each
series of units).
