Looks like some fish in a channel or drop off. The dark area on the right appears to be some soft mud or sand.

the dark are on the right side display seems like a depression that the beam went across and not down into.

Gary I edit a lot of photos with paint shop pro. You can add all kinds of things to a picture.
Paint under windows will also let you do some basic editing.
Not sure what Robert is using these days as he has all kinds of computer tools...

Thxs Robert, I was hoping you'd say fish. :) This is my first snapshot, it was taken on Chicot Lake, Louisiana. I believe it is a school of crappie staging post spawn. Water temp was 70 deg F 2 days beofre this snapshot.
I was wondering do fish usually represent themselves as white objects?

I click on the image and maximize it so its at the best resolution, then right click on it and go to "Save Picture As" or you can "Copy" it.
Then I open up Photoshop and either open the saved image or create a new blank image and paste it in. The Save As method will probably be easiest to work with at first.
The use the line and text tools to edit and then save it.
